About James Suarez
Since 2014, James has documented the nightlife of Asia—from Bangkok’s gogo bars to Tokyo’s underground clubs. His aesthetic has been shaped by years of fieldwork and direct guidance from legendary photographers Greg Girard and Bruce Gilden, sharpening his eye for timing, atmosphere, and visual impact.
James has exhibited internationally and released several photo zines. His commercial portfolio includes collaborations with Ricoh GR, Yokogao Magazine, Hennessy, AMBUSH, and Armand de Brignac.
Beyond his personal projects, James is a sought-after event photographer for leading clubs and fashion brands. He also leads street photography workshops in Shinjuku and Kabukicho, teaching photographers how to navigate the city with intention.
